Becoming a Storyteller - Tammie Ortlieb
She was not always focused on writing but she as always written. Tammie started as a professor, instructor and teacher at Kalamazoo Community College. But ever since she was a little girl, she would have people sit down on the couch and she would perform for them. Tammie wanted to take them away from whatever they were doing. She soon discovered she could do this with a pen.
Tammie has had a lot of material in her life. She started with nothing, childhood poverty was her reality. She’s lived in houses that could have been condemned. She collected Coke bottles on the side of the road with her mom to get dinner. She’s had a rich life as far as material goes.
“Writing and I have always had a love/hate relationship. I’m a writer, no I’m not a writer.” - Tammie Ortlieb on struggling to to define herself
